BON BON
BonBon is a travel guide magazine that explores destinations through a sweet, personal lens. The debut issue features a vibrant pink Mexican wall in Polanco on the cover—a nod to the rich, colorful palette of Mexico. The color pink was chosen intentionally to evoke the warmth, charm, and bold spirit of Mexican culture.
I designed a custom typeface called Goody Fernandez—used throughout the magazine to bring its voice to life.
GOUDY FERNANDEZ
Created during the Spring 2024 semester at Parsons School of Design, this typeface was developed as part of my Typeface Design course. Inspired by the Goudy type family, Goody Fernandez is a reinterpretation that blends classic elegance with a hand-crafted twist. The full typeface was drawn and refined in Glyphs. Below is a glimpse into the design process behind the final result.
REDUX
Redux is a conceptual magazine centered on visual culture—reviving the past, inspiring the future. Named after the French word redux (“brought back” or “restored”), the magazine explores how images, styles, and design languages from the past resurface in today's creative landscape.
Through a series of editorial covers and layout experiments, I aimed to reflect this ongoing dialogue between nostalgia and innovation. Redux is a visual time capsule, where archival aesthetics meet contemporary design thinking, inviting readers to look back in order to move forward.
A CATERPILLAR
Is an interactive, accordion-style booklet where typography takes center stage. Unfolding like a visual poem, the book invites readers to explore playful experiments with letters, phrases, and spatial composition. Through creative layouts and typographic interactions, each spread reveals a new rhythm, a new shape, a new voice. Printed in hardcover, this book is a personal creation—a celebration of type as both form and narrative.
WARDROBE DECIPHERING FOR GUEST
Wardrobe Deciphering for Guests is an editorial piece that offers a playful yet practical take on wedding guest attire. Using iconic characters from beloved TV shows and movies as visual anchors, the piece explores what to wear (and what not to wear) when attending your friends' or family's big day. Blending cultural commentary with style advice, the writing brings humor, clarity, and a touch of nostalgia to the ever-confusing dress code conversation.
