HOW TO BECOME A RABBIT
January 2024

As the Creative Lead and Director of this whimsical children’s book project, I had the joy of transforming the letter “R” into a series of charming 3D plush rabbits. Each character was uniquely crafted with its own color palette, texture, and personality, blending softness and playfulness to spark imagination in young readers.

This project involved a mix of digital design, 3D illustration, typographic experimentation, and textural overlays. Every element—from custom lettering to surface detailing—was thoughtfully developed to create a magical, immersive world. The “R” is not just a letter here; it becomes a tactile character that invites children to explore language through design.

A celebration of form, storytelling, and visual delight, this piece reflects my passion for blending design with emotional connection and sensory appeal.

Before reaching the final design, we experimented with different textures, carefully exploring how they interacted with the shapes to create the soft, plush-like effect we envisioned. To ensure the focus remained on form and composition, we first arranged the elements in black and white, avoiding the influence of color.

Only after refining the layout, structure, and texture application did we introduce color, selecting a palette that enhanced the depth and warmth of the plush rabbits without overwhelming the design. This process allowed us to achieve a balanced and visually engaging final result, where both texture and color work harmoniously to bring the story to life.
